Tour nightlife hotspots in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood.
Even though it’s been around for the better part of a decade, Wynwood still feels like Miami’s hottest new neighborhood – partially due to the fact that the city’s best chefs and bar owners keep opening their newest concepts in this hotspot. Perfect for a stiff drink and chill vibes, Wynwood is where Miami’s most free-spirited locals go for happy hour, dinner and late-night, every night of the week.
Craving a night out in Wynwood? Grab a cold beer or handcrafted cocktail at one of these hot nightlife spots.
The Wynwood Yard
As Wynwood’s latest out-of-the-box food and drink concept, this “backyard” hangout is equal parts food yard, events space, live-music venue and all-day hangout. From food trucks to yoga classes, The Wynwood Yard celebrates food, music and culture, and even has its own pop-up bar and edible garden. 56 NW 29th Street, Miami, FL 33127.
Beaker & Gray
Located in an unassuming building in the heart of North Miami Avenue, Beaker & Gray invites a hip crowd to indulge in inventive, house-made cocktails much like “The Greenhouse,” a concoction of botanist gin, green chartreuse, basil and celery soda. Head there for happy hour – from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; and midnight to 2 a.m., Monday through Thursday – and choose from a mouthwatering menu of $5 cocktails and small plates. 2637 N Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33127.
The Butcher Shop Beer Garden & Grill
This unique spot is part German-style beer garden, and part restaurant and butcher shop. Along with a 24-foot meat case of cage-free Cornish hens, house-made sausages, chorizo, USDA Prime Black Angus beef and more, patrons can pull up a chair at its outdoor bar. The Butcher Shop Beer Garden & Grill has every bottle of liquor you could ask for, plus a large menu of craft beers on tap. 165 NW 23rd Street, Miami, FL 33127.
A popular local spot, the indoor-outdoor Wood Tavern boasts casual vibes, vibrant graffiti décor and a laid-back atmosphere. It hosts Miami’s most popular “Taco Tuesday,” and often has 30 percent off drink specials, DJs, live music and an audience of musicians, hipsters, artists and other creative minds. 2531 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127.
This indoor-outdoor hangout boasts plenty of dance space and a throwback music scene, one that includes regular rock acts and DJs spinning records. One of Wynwood’s original staples, Gramps invites partygoers to come drink, relax, dance or do as they please. 176 NW 24th Street, Miami, FL 33127.
In addition to its delicious menu of all-day breakfast, Wynwood Diner has Vanessa Hulsey (from Broken Shaker and Restaurant 27 on Miami Beach), heading its one-of-a-kind bar. Under her leadership, this cool, throwback spot makes its own cocktail infusions and syrups, and has come up with a cocktail menu purposely created to pair with the food. It includes boozy milkshakes and dessert-y drinks like the “Anchor,” which blends Sailor Jerry rum, pineapple, house-made banana purée and whipped cream. 2601 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127.
